An in-depth cost of Wix Squarespace, Shopify, and Bigcommerce plans you need to read.

Wix price vs Squarespace, Shopify, and Bigcommerce price are important to fully understand not just knowing them when considering which of the platform to use to build your regular business or ecommerce website.

Each platform comes with different pricing plans and features suitable for different individuals.

They all have plans with cheaper fees and more expensive one(s).

In my post, I will help you compare and evaluate their costs to decide which one is suitable for your budget, business goals, services you need, etc.

Wix is known for its versatile website builder and wide range of pricing plans, catering to various needs and budgets.

Years ago when the platform was in its infancy, I had a friend who had a Wix website and she needed my help in redesigning and SEOing it.

I enjoyed toying with it as it was intuitive and simple to use.

However, I didn’t find picking a plan as easy recently when I tried to.

Signing up and upgrading plans are confusing

The premium plans pricing is extremely confusing as the signup plan name you see when not logged in differ from when logged into your account dashboard.

Their article discussed this:

Wix note about how plans are based for upgrade is based on a person's geography

What I got from my geography (Los Angeles):

Wix price I see when logged into my account dashboard to upgrade to premium plan.

General yearly subscription cost you see before signup

As of this writing, Wix offers four main subscription plans fee for websites when paid annually plans are:

Plan nameAnnual cost

Business & ecommerce

For those who want to run an online stores, there are three additional plans with the following prices:

Plan nameAnnual cost
Business Basic$27/m
Business Unlimited$32/m
Business VIP$59/m
The prices are based on annual subscription.

Who each plan is best for

The Free plan is perfect for individuals looking to experiment, but it comes with limitations, such as Wix-branded ads on your site.

The Combo Wix plan, ideal for personal use and small businesses, offers more features, such as ad removal, increased storage, access to premium apps, etc. All these at an incredible price.

The Unlimited and VIP plans cater to entrepreneurs and professionals who require more resources, priority support, and the budget to splash.

Squarespace price

Squarespace’s affordable monthly fees are structured around four plans:

Plan nameMonthly cost Pay Annually
Business$33/m $23/m
Commerce Basic$36/m$27/m
Commerce Advanced $65/m$49/m

Who each plan is best for

I really love Squarespace Personal plan as it is suitable for individuals or small enterprises with a tight budget, and offers essential features and unlimited pages.

However, the Business plan, aimed at growing businesses, offers more perks, such as Google Workspace integration and the ability to sell products with a 3% transaction fee.

The Basic and Advanced Commerce Squarespace plans are geared towards online stores, with 0% transaction fees, customer accounts, and more advanced e-commerce features.

The Basic and Advanced Squarespace’s plans are perfect for businesses focusing on scaling their online sales.

Shopify price

Shopify’s pricing is primarily focused on e-commerce, with three main plans:

Plan nameMonthly cost Pay Annually
Shopify$105/m $79/m
Advanced $399/m$299/m

There’s also a Starter plan priced at $5/m for selling on social media and messaging apps, and a ShopifyPlus plan for larger enterprises, which starts at $2,000/m.

Who each plan is best for

The Basic plan is great for new businesses, offering essential e-commerce features, while the Shopify plan targets growing businesses with additional tools like gift cards and professional reports.

The Advanced plan is designed for scaling businesses, providing advanced features such as third-party shipping rates.

An information some people may not know is that they offer a Point of Sale (POS) system, which help any brick-and-mortar business sync their online and offline sales.

Bigcommerce price

Bigcommerce pricings structure are flexible, with four main pricing plans:

Who each plan is best for

The Standard Bigcommerce plan, ideal for new businesses, provides various features such as unlimited products and Google Shopping integration.

Bigcommerce Plus plan is aimed at growing enterprises, offers additional tools like customer segmentation and abandoned cart recovery.

If you have an established business, The Pro plan is for you as it comes with advanced tools like product saarch and custom SSL.

Notably, Bigcommerce has a unique pricing aspect called “Sales Thresholds.”

This means that your plan’s cost could increase if your store exceeds a certain amount of revenue. For example, the Standard plan accommodates up to $50,000 in sales per year, while the Plus plan allows up to $150,000.

Selecting the plan with the right cost

After comparing each of the website and ecommerce platform prices, you might still be confused about which one to pick.

My recommendation is to consider the specific services and features you need before choosing a plan with Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, or Bigcommerce.

Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, and Bigcommerce each have their unique pricing plans and features.

Wix and Squarespace cater to a broader audience, with plans for both regular websites and online stores.

Shopify is the go-to choice for e-commerce, while Bigcommerce offers flexibility for businesses with varying sales volumes.

Ultimately, the best platform for you will depend on your specific needs and budget as I mentioned earlier.

Remember to consider the costscosts associated with transaction fees, credit card processing rates, and any add-ons or premium apps you might require to make your online presence truly shine.
